MATTHEW J. WEISGABLE [he/him] is a NYC based lighting designer and associate/assistant for theater, opera and dance. Select design credits include A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder, Much Ado About Nothing, A Child’s Christmas in Wales, The Rainmaker, Tartuffe (The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey), Big: The Musical (Bristol Riverside Theatre), Misery (Bristol Valley Theater), A Jury of Our Queers (Target Margin Theatre), Bacchae 2.1, The Sun Serpent (Hangar Theatre Company), Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, L’Enfant et les Sortileges / Cendrillon, Power/Trip, Assassins: The Musical (Carnegie Mellon University). Select associate design credits include Ajijaak on Turtle Island (Gerald Lynch Theatre). Matthew was a 2021 ETC Fred Foster Mentee, received Special Recognition in the 2021 Claypaky Shine a Light Competition and was a 2021 Hangar Theatre Company Lighting Design Fellow. Matthew is the current lighting supervisor of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo.

As a lighting designer Matthew aspires to leave a lasting impression on all audience members. Matthew views lighting as a critical aspect of storytelling. He approaches his design process thoughtfully, and with an emphasis on capturing every detail.
