MATTHEW J. WEISGABLE [he/him/his] is a passionate and detail-oriented lighting designer and supervisor with a strong foundation in theatrical design who is dedicated to enhancing storytelling through light. He holds an M.F.A. in Lighting Design from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Marymount Manhattan College.

Matt is currently the Lighting Supervisor for Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, a critically acclaimed and internationally touring dance company. In this role, he oversees the execution and maintains the integrity of the lighting design at venues across the globe, collaborating closely with local production teams and venue staff to ensure the visual consistency and artistic intent on every stage.

Matt’s professional experience spans regional theatre and dance, with design and programming credits at respected institutions including Bill T. Jones New York Live Arts, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Bristol Riverside Theatre, Bristol Valley Theater, and The Hangar Theatre Company.

In addition to his design and supervisory roles, Matt is dedicated to arts education and mentorship. He has collaborated with and taught high school students at the United Nations International School and Pascack Valley High School. Matt relishes the opportunity to work with students of all ages who have a passion for lighting design and provides them technical instruction, creative guidance, and professional insight. His educational work reflects his belief in fostering the next generation of theatre artists through experiential learning and shared ownership of the creative process.

Matt has been recognized for his work with Special Recognition in the 202 Claypaky Shine A Light Competition, selection as a 2021 ETC Fred Foster Mentee, and as the Lighting Design Fellow at the Hangar Theatre Company.
